Through a host of exciting activities, preschool, elementary and high school students are discovering the importance of maritime heritage in the development of Charlevoix and the province of Quebec.   • Visit of the facilities of the old shipyard from 1946
  • Multimedia experience "Between pitoune and dynamite: the St-André schooner"
  • Game on maritime vocabulary
  • Workshop on maritime trades aboard the Jean-Yvan schooner, team competition
  • Theater workshop in the shipyard store and workshop
  • Team game on the international flag code and Morse code and visit of the tug Félicia
  • Team maritime rally for all ages
  • Team building of miniature boats, visit of the 1946 sawmill, explanation of the stages of construction of a schooner and visit of the sailing schooner Marie Clarisse
  • Free play in the vegetal labyrinth, the hebertism track and the play area of the Parc des navigateurs (12 years old and under)
  • Mountain walk in the Forêt marine Trail (4 km trail, 8 km round trip)
  • Scientific experimentation of the tide phenomenon and the water cycle
  • Experimentation of the hoist and pulley system in the workshop
  • Discovery of the maritime fauna and flora followed by free time to explore the shoreline
  • Visit of three schooners and the tugboat
  • Demonstration workshop on marine knots

 

The Destination Saint-Laurent adventure

ACTIVITIES TO BE DONE IN CLASS
Curious to discover the riches of the river? The Destination Saint-Laurent adventure has designed an educational tool for elementary and secondary school teachers.

It allows young explorers to navigate the ten fun routes along the shoreline and even experience under the waters of the river. May the treasure hunt begin!
